This annual gathering of the Youth Venture community brings together over 100 Youth Venturers and youth leaders from around the world interested in creating change through entrepreneurship, as well as the adult allies and professionals who support young changemakers.

Representatives from the Twin Cities included: Cookie Cart, Community Design Center of Minnesota, Cycles for Change, and Dream of Wild Health.

Dream of Wild Health

“We’re proud to have two Garden Warriors attending Ashoka’s Youth Venture Summit in Washington DC this week! Dream of Wild Health helps youth build their own dreams, and they take off!”

Cycles for Change

Our amazing apprentice Eugene had the opportunity on Saturday morning at the Youth Venture Summit to introduce a world changemaker Anshu Gupta. He reminded us to always consider the dignity of those we work with.

Youth Venture Summit take-away: We need to change the old model of service, which is focused on the redemption of the giver, and work for the empowerment of everyone.

Community Design Center of Minnesota:

Day 1

“Today was an awesome day! We took the subway and bus for the first time, met many new people from all around the USA, and participated in many team building activities. Our favorite activity was called “if you really knew me…”, where we shared meaningful information about ourselves with complete strangers. Enjoy our pictures from the first day!”

Day 2

Today both Pa and Theng Yeng attended three workshops each! Their favorite was “The Lean Startup”. They learned so much and reflected on their many ideas and goals for the Community Design Center of Minnesota. They are so excited to come back and share all of the knowledge and ideas that they have gained.

Day 3

“We have participated in another full day of speakers, workshops and a social venture pitch competition! Pa and Theng Yeng learned effective strategies for giving a powerful business pitch and were very inspired by how far some youth have taken their ventures. We are sad that the conference is quickly coming to an end!”

Day 4

“Minnesota family! It was wonderful to get to represent Youth Social Entrepreneurship (Y.S.E.) at Ashoka’s Youth Venture Summit in D.C. with Dream of Wild Health, Cycles for Change, Cookie Cart, Youth Express, Pillsbury United Communities, and The A-List. It was so fun to get to know others doing amazing work in our communities! A huge thanks again to the Sundance Family Foundation for making this trip possible!”
