Don’t Miss the 2012 Chefs’ Dinner benefit for Cookie Cart on Nov. 4th!

For over 20 years, Cookie Cart’s urban nonprofit bakery has provided North Minneapolis teens with lasting and meaningful work, life, and leadership skills. Aiming to prepare young people to find and keep jobs in the 21st century workforce, the organization gives teens the opportunity to gain transferable employment and interpersonal skills that will help them succeed, and assist with navigating aptitude and interest in potential career options.

Just this fall two former Cookie Cart youth employees (Amy and Danielle), also from a partner program called Transition Plus, were hired by Minneapolis Public Schools through an internship program to work in the Northgate Café in their new building on West Broadway.

 

To support Cookie Cart’s continued economic empowerment opportunities for local teens, celebrity chefs have teamed up with chefs of the Arts Institutes International MN to present:

 

 The 2012 Chefs’ Dinner

$100 per person

($50 toward the purchase of each seat is tax deductible)

All proceeds benefit Cookie Cart’s youth employment training program.

Prepared by Celebrity Chef Landon Schoenefeld of Haute Dish, Celebrity Chef Matt Schmidt of Toast Wine Bar and Café, Pat Weber and chefs of the International Culinary School at the Art Institutes.

  • Reception with Silent Auction

Prior to Dinner, guests can meet Cookie Cart youth employees, enjoy wine, beer and appetizers, take pictures in the photo booth, and bid on silent auction items from local food vendors, gift shops, sports teams and more.

  • Program

During dinner there will be live entertainment, with a short program featuring former and current youth employees sharing stories of their experiences at Cookie Cart.
