GoodSearch.com has one mission: “Empower people to change the world with simple everyday actions that raise money for causes they care most about.”
The online search engine, powered by Yahoo!, donates 50% of its sponsored search revenue to the nonprofits and schools chosen by its users. Each search leads to a donation of about 1 penny, which adds up, especially when a large number of users join and use the site in support of a particular cause. The donated funds come from GoodSearch advertisers, making the program FREE for users (like you!) and the over 100,000 organizations that benefit!
Since its launch in 2005 by Ken and JJ Ramburg, GoodSearch has expanded their platform to include even more ways to give back:
GoodShop: an online shopping center of top e-merchants committed to helping fund worthy causes. Each purchase on GoodShop generates a donation to the organization specified, about 3% on average with potential to reach 20%.
GoodDining: the first program of its kind, allowing users to dine in or take-out at 10,000restaurants across the country year-round and earn donations up to 6% for their favorite cause.
GoodSearch App: for users to add GoodSearch as the default search provider in his/her internet browser, and earn more donations!
Custom GoodApp: participating nonprofits and schools can customize a free app for GoodSearch with their logo and a searchbox built in, allowing supporters to earn donations and promote support for the organization. Once installed, the app user’s searches and purchases generate donations without even having to visit the GoodShop homepage.
